Using the Hoop
The differences in size and weight
"The smaller the hoop, the faster it moves, creating
an effective cardio workout, or a more appropriate
size for smaller children and petite people.
The larger the hoop, the slower it moves, allowing
beginners ease in learning to hoop. Bigger hoops also
allow the user more time to learn various moves with
the hoop, such as taking it off the body, jumping in
and out of it, etc.
Moving slowly with a hoop helps in training the
hips and legs to move more exactly with the round
motion of the hoop creating greater flexability,
balance and control. The weighted hoops move slower. Added weight makes the hoop pull into the
body more as it spins. This makes hooping easier but also gives you a
better workout as you are moving more weight around.
This also gives the hooper a nice massage around the
back and hip area- adding to the complete core
workout."
